Nice post by Nigel, it proves if you work hard enough you can achieve.

I remember walking past Ronnie Scott’s about fifteen years ago thinking ‘I wonder if I’ll ever play in there?’
The very next week Sam Burgess called me up and asked if I wanted to do an early show. “What do you mean?” I said. “On the actual stage???”
A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then!
I’m in the house band for the upstairs jam tonight with Andy Davies.
Friday 14th and Saturday 15th I’ll be playing the late shows (1am starts) with my band - the Nigel Price Organ Trio.
Ross Stanley on B3 Hammond Organ, Emiliano Caroselli on drums and with special guest Vasilis Xenopoulos on tenor saxophone.
We’ve played together a lot, travelled up and down the UK many times and built a repertoire and indeed a reputation that’s seen us win ‘best jazz ensemble’ the 2010 Parliamentary Jazz Awards (with the master musicians Matt Home and Pete Whittaker), and ‘best small group’ in the 2016 British Jazz Awards.
It’s a simple recipe:
Unfussy but punchy arrangements that get the whole band involved, the will to swing, a healthy sprinkling of the blues, respect for the heritage of the music. And no bullshit.
Come down!
