Just strung up my Epiphone Regent with these , Jamie Bell my teacher in the DADGAD style of Jazz playing suggested these Thomastik Infeld Bebops. I dont use a pick i play with my thumb. Really nice sound , very impressed and sound great going through the Mambo Jazz amp. As advertised they are stated as being the only round wound string fro Jazz, aint cheap but the tone is fantastic.
As stated they are not cheap but they have that vintage sound to them , Ie been looking for this tone for a while and Jamie suggested I give them a try.
Also get in touch with Jamie , he is a tutor on Skype and other media and he is a great teacher , clear notes in PDF and recordings, he teaches in DADGAD and has brought my Jazz playing and confidence right up.
He also publishes and releases his own recordings , he has a fine background and he too has been tutored by soem great players .
